BOTOX versus Fillers!!!

So often, I have been asked “why don’t you use botox on the cheeks instead of fillers, isn’t it cheaper?” Or “what is the difference between botox and fillers?”
Well, I think they are all very good questions to ask.
In this blog, I will give you a fast and easy way to understand the difference between botox and fillers. After reading this blog, feel free to contact me with any questions.
Botox is a neuromodulator. Well, It is a big word if you are not familiar with medical terminology. The other name for botox is “botulinum toxin” which blocks the action of certain nerve types. Yes, toxin!!! 

But, this toxin has been refined to protein and tiny doses can be injected into desirable areas to block the action of some nerves.
In aesthetics, if it is injected into certain muscles of facial expressions, it will relax the muscle tension on the skin and soften the lines and wrinkles. The effects usually last between 3-6 months.

So many usage of botox including:

Fillers on the other hand are used to add volume to tissues in different types including hyaluronic acid fillers, collagen-stimulating fillers, calcium hydroxylapatite and permanent fillers.
Generally speaking, Fillers can be injected into areas to replace the lost volume, rejuvenate the skin and plump. The longevity of Fillers are usually between 9-18 months depending on the type.
